Can the core group let us know what are they targeting right now? Are they targeting CIR next month? The lack of direction will really lead to less contribution. Without that,I will have a hard time convincing other friends about IV.

Hi All,
Would request any answers or any practical experiences in regards to my queries:
My wife and my infant daughter originally came to the US in 2004 on H4 and my wife got her H1-B also in 2004.
In Oct 2007 I and my wife got our EAD (The GC processing is through my company). Also since our arrival to the US in 2004 we did not go to India . But we are planning to go this summer.
My queries: We are planning to use AP to enter US

What will be my status once I come back from India. Can I maintain H1B Status without going for stamping since I changed my company. to enter US

My wife has no H1-B stamp on her passport (since she came on h4). Can she come back on H1B, without going for stamping? Or is it advisable to go for stamping of her H1 and come on H1-B?

My daughter has H4 visa based on my H1-B, can she come on H4?

Secretary Janet Napolitano of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced (http://www.aila.org/content/default.aspx?docid=32175) on June 3, 2010 that the U.S. and France have established an arrangement to implement the Immigration Advisory Program (IAP), which allows for the identification of high-risk travelers at foreign airports before they board aircraft bound for the U.S. This arrangement has been launched at Paris? Charles De Gaulle International Airport. A similar arrangement was entered into on July 1, 2009, implementing IAP at Madrid Barajas International Airport.
The purpose of the IAP is to allow specialized U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) personnel posted in foreign airports to utilize current targeting and passenger analysis information and/or an assessment of passengers? documentation to identify high-risk persons bound for the U.S. and to make ?no board? recommendations to carriers and host governments.
Secretary Napolitano believes that the IAP arrangements will enhance the capabilities of both the U.S. and foreign countries in which we have collaborated with to protect our immigration systems as well as the global aviation network from abuse by terrorists and transnational criminals.
DHS currently has IAP arrangements with seven (7) countries and operates at nine (9) locations.

Hi all,
I am getting a new job offer and i applied my GC this July just like most of us here. Is it possible to accept the offer and transfer the H1B visa, then try and negotiate to start later as soon as 180 days are completed?
What happens if i transfer my H1 now ... less than 180 days..and do not start with the new company, will my 485 still be processed? Lets say the H1 is transferred, but i plan not to use that H1 and stick to the same company where my H1 is, will that still be ok?
I am confused, its a good offer, and i dont know what to do. pls help..
An H1 transfer is not really a transfer. Just that you'll get another employer who is willing to and who can legally hire you. It does not mean you HAVE TO work for the new employer.
All the options you discussed here are safe for you.
1) Get H1 'transferred' now and join the new employer after 6 months are over
2) Get H1 'transferred' now and don't join the new employer.
Just make sure your new job description is similar to your LC job description and it has been 180 days since you filed your I-485.. Chill

I'm not an attorney, but an immigration paralegal. You can apply for the extension within six months of expiry. As long as your passport is valid at the time of filing you should be fine.
