<> For Mumbai appointment how long is it taking ? any idea ?
This tool is supposed to provide the earliest available appt. date:
https://www.vfs-usa.co.in/ApplnForms/EarliestDate.aspx
But does not show any date after all info is entered.
<> They want some fees to be paid via HDFC bank .
Is there a way , I can do it sitting in USA ?


<>My Mom is a working professional having her own enterprise in India. She got 10 year Multiple Entry visa in past. How will they view her application ? will it have ANY bearing on the fact that I applied for GC and my PD is now current ?

Hello,

My wife is planning to attend for a H4 Visa Re stamping. I have couple of questions regarding the visa application process. Appreciate if you can help me with my questions

1) In DS156 should my answer to the Question� �Has Anyone Ever Files an Immigrant Petition on your behalf� be NO. FYI, my 140 is approved and waiting on 485 priority date. I don�t think I gave my wife�s name yet in my labor or 140 approval process

2) There is a section to be filled in VFS website called� Petition Details from 797/. I assume that principal applicant would be me. However I am not sure what to fill in the following questions
Petition Receipt #
Petition Expiration date
Petitioner Name: I assume it is my company name

Is the above info to be filled in from My 797 ( case type I129)or my wife�s 797( case type I539) Receipt #?

Hi,

Gurus - I have few questions and I need your help:

1. My EAD/AP expires in June/July '08. Can I apply for their renewal now?

2. Will there be a finger-printing requirement for the renewal? We had finger print in June 2007 when we applied 485/765/131 together?

3. Is it better to efile or paper file?

4. I will be in India from April to June this year. I have an AP valid till end June. Can I file for EAD/AP renewal and leave for India in April. Is there any risk? I can still use my current AP to enter when I come in early June, right?

I'm F1 right now, graduating in may. I'm not sure if i'm going to work or go to school after graduation. If I apply for OPT then get into school again as an F1 student, is my current F1 visa void (valid to 2012) ? Will I have to get a new F1 visa because I applied for OPT?

My Receipt date for 485 is july 27th 2007 and nebraska is processing applications for this date.

I applied for cross chargeability on 10th March.. Any idea how long before my case is approved? My lawyer has confirmed that its possible and he claims that it should take 4-8 weeks. I wanted to check to see what the experience of people has been so far?

Hi,
I am travelling to India in November 2009. My visa recently expired and I got my H1b extension until 2012. I work for a big US company of repute. Although my company has no TARP related benefits from the GOV, given the economic conditions, I am little concerned if Stamping in India for visa could be a problem? My concern is if they would deny or delay the visa approval? I have all my documents valid including employment status.My GC is under process(I-140 approved).
Additionally, what precaution should I take that enhances my chances of successful visa stamping?
Please advise.

Folks,

Here's one question I have which I haven't see in any forums so far (perhaps its lurking somewhere .. who knows) ... let me get to the point.

When filing for AOS/485, if the I-140 that was filed prior to filing AOS was pending and gets approved AFTER 485 was filed... should we explicitly inform USCIS that that 140 was appoved ?

I guess USCIS should have that information (of course!) but I am not sure if we should be pro-active and make sure we inform the service center that the 140 was approved ?!

My visa H1-B nd h4 visa was expired on june 30 2010. I have got an job offer and they filed my H1-B petition after july 20 2010. I have submitted my I140 and mine & my wife I485 applications in EB1 category on Feb 22 2010. The gap between the H1b process is nearly 20 days period. The USCIS has approved my H1 but my wife's H4 was denied.

Here is my question. Whether they would have kept the I-94 for me. How can we proceed with H4 denial situation. Please give me some suggesion

I came in on an F1 and got transfered to a H1B without leaving the country.
My H1 was approved for 3 years ie till 2012.
Due to problems at my work place, my H1 got revoked by my employer.
I'm in the medical profession, hence, jobs are few and far between if removed form a training program such as I was in. The next cycle of jobs dont start employment till July 2011.
I am currently within the 180 day limit.
What are my options? My countrys consulate is known to be tight fisted with visas, especially as I have overstayed since I lost my job abruptly.
If my fiance and I do get married, am I eligible for for adjustment of status?

Please help!
