The underlying ideas of Notes and its databases is really very good and the programming ability is not too hard to pick up.
But,
The interface of Notes is frankly horrendous and epitomises IBM and Lotus's inability to stick with the program when it comes to following interface trends.
my biggest bug-bear on the PC with notes is the F5 button. Within windows hitting F5 will nearly always refresh the display . . . especially useful for windows explorer and email clients.
but hit F5 in Notes and oh look . . . logged out of the system. Please enter your password.
overall, i like it, but the constant divergent drive from trying to integrate the interface to something the rest of the world is used to ( Mac / Linux / Windows ) is a PITA.

Geez kind of happy that I held off on updating to 4.3.1. I usually update as soon as a JB is out but I was kind of lazy this time. Seems there are alot of bugs.

Good.
Time to end state-sanctioned murder in order to make a point.
An enlightened society does not kill people under the law - either as punishment or for retribution. We don't answer murder with additional murder.

Victory? Apple is at war?
Absolutely. They have been at war since the days of Windows. However, the "enemy" has changed, and this is a far cry from victory.

I just got iMsafe. It backs up to an iPod, Firewire drive etc and it has been excellent. It just seems really good. Looks nice, dead simple, works well. And that's it.

If it can be avoided better, but I would rather authorize torture instead of letting attacks happen.

Well since I can't get Tweetdeck to sync between my Mac and iPhone, I'm trying this, given all the rave reviews of Tweetie 1 and hype for Tweetie 2.

I'm an Apple fan, but the truth has to be told: a) 3.5" is TOO small to be practical. I have a Motorola DEFY with a 3.7" display, and even then, the on screen keyboard is not large enough in portrait mode, at least 4 to 4.3" is vital. A larger display is also easier on the eyes when reading lengthy texts. b) Lack of camera shutter release is a major and idiotic decision. You cannot take self portraits, further it is not possible to simply pick up the phone (as you can with some Android and even WP7 handsets) and press the camera button to fire up the camera and shoot away without needing to hit an icon on the 'desktop' first. c) Lack of standard MicroUSB port means having to rely on Apple cabling - forget the cable and you're hosed if no one else has one. d) Call quality is not good enough for serious use due to the design flaws. Yes, it may be a superb gaming and multimedia phone, but I know many people with iPhones and have owned a 3GS, and when talking to them, the call quality is not as good as other brands, further, they lose signal more easily. (Here in the UK.) e) Reliance on iTunes is another hindrance. You feel chained to your main computer. With an Android phone, you are liberated.
Again, I'm an Apple fan, I have an iPad and desktop Macs, but the design flaws in all iPhone models have made that platform too much of a liability.
Let's hope iPhone 5 features ThunderBolt, a larger display, a dedicated camera shutter release and that iOS 5 removes iTunes from the equation.
Consumers are getting savvy thanks to the enlightenment (and lower cost) that Android delivers. Google are keeping Apple in check, and that's good for us consumers!

The key will be when Verizon gets the iPhone 5, as many have already said. But I don't see how contract commitments would be holding back current Verizon customers. Verizon customers have never bought a phone en masse like AT&T users with iPhones. Current AT&T customers looking to switch, however, would presumably be locked in to a 3GS contract for at least another couple of months, though at this point the ETF on a June or July 2009 contract is substantially less than another month of service. But they probably also believe a new iPhone will be coming in June, which might explain why they're content to sit tight.
Nothing about the CDMA iPhone matters until the new edition is released. Then we'll get a clearer picture of iPhone interest.

Oh silly gays when will you learn. ;)but yeah if a white person called me a n word i'd be mad so the same applies here. I'd be pissed if someone called me a bundle of stocks. :D
If a white person called you the N word, you should be examining your tolerance in their ignorance as well as their ignorance. You shouldn't be so quick to react, because they are looking for that reaction out of you; that is why they call you it. It could be said that you are living up to the slur that you are being called.
Disclaimer: I'm also Black. I don't let the word get to me because it empowers them if I show any reaction to it that doesn't benefit me.
Back on topic though.. the F word.. what were to happen if you were overseas (the UK, for example), and someone uses the F word while drawing a puff from the Camel or Marlboro in their mouth. Would you be so quick to judge and react then?
BL.

Really? you read every 120 page document that came with every piece of software you install? And understood it without a lawyer?
First, the English portion (or any single language) is only 5 pages, not 120. Why would you need a lawyer to understand the agreement? See below.
From Apple's EULA (http://images.apple.com/legal/sla/docs/iphone.pdf)
Apple and its partners and licensees may provide certain services through your iPhone that rely upon location information. To provide these services, where available, Apple and its partners and licensees may transmit, collect, maintain, process and use your location data, including the real-time geographic location of your iPhone. The location data collected by Apple is collected in a form that does not personally identify you and may be used by Apple and its partners and licensees to provide location-based products and services. By using any location-based services on your iPhone, you agree and consent to Apple’s and its partners' and licensees' transmission, collection, maintenance, processing and use of your location data to provide such products and services. You may withdraw this consent at any time by not using the location-based features or by turning off the Location Services setting on your iPhone. Not using these features will not impact the non location-based functionality of your iPhone. When using third party applications or services on the iPhone that use or provide location data, you are subject to and should review such third party's terms and privacy policy on use of location data by such third party applications or services.
Seems pretty straightforward.
Sure, Apple should have encrypted the file, not backed it up to your machine, and culled the database better. However, if you are worried about someone accessing this file from your phone or computer, you should be more worried about the fact someone has your phone or computer.

You don't need to know a year ahead of Apple's product launch dates to run your business. There are lots of professionals using 5 year old software to get their millions of dollars of worth work done. I like software upgrades as much as the next guy, but just because it's cool to install new stuff, not that I'll be able to do much more than I can do right now with the new software.Big business will turn over machines every 2 years wether they need it or not. They have to budget for new equipment so they need to know what is down the pipeline.
